Like Audible, But Free
If you haven’t heard of this before, I want to share one of my favorite apps that helped my nutrition coaching career excel: Libby. This app helped me go from reading only a few books per year to at least one a month, effortlessly and for free.
Happy 2-Tips Tuesday!
Here are two ideas to consider this week.

1. Libby: like Audible, but free
I like to joke that the coaches who hang out around here are all Kind Nerds – jacked people who love to read and learn new things.
If you haven’t heard of this before, I want to share one of my favorite apps that helped my nutrition coaching career excel: Libby.
Libby helped me go from reading only a few books per year to at least one a month, effortlessly and for free. All you need to do is download Libby, add a public library card, and you can start borrowing audiobooks and e-books on the go.
And the best part… all of the borrowed books are automatically returned at the end of the loan period – so no late fees!
For me, reading is one of my highest ROI activities. It compresses the most important thoughts and life lessons from experts into bite-sized pieces of learning that I can take immediate action on.
I’m curious. Have you heard of Libby before? Do you use it yourself?
2. What I’m Currently Reading:
13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do
Top of my book pile:
13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do: Take Back Your Power, Embrace Change, Face Your Fears, and Train Your Brain for Happiness and Success by Amy Morin
In this book, psychotherapist Amy Morin explores the 13 common habits that undermine our success and happiness, like self-pity, obsessing over the uncontrollable, and envying others. The chapter list speaks for itself describing what mentally strong people DON’T do:
1. They don’t waste time feeling sorry for themselves.
2. They don’t give away their power.
3. They don’t shy away from change.
4. They don’t waste energy on things they can’t control.
5. They don’t worry about pleasing everyone.
6. They don’t fear taking calculated risks.
7. They don’t dwell on the past.
8. They don’t make the same mistakes over and over.
9. They don’t resent other people’s success.
10. They don’t give up after the first failure.
11. They don’t fear alone time.
12. They don’t feel the world owes them anything.
13. They don’t expect immediate results.
I love this book, and often recommend it to my nutrition clients who struggle with playing the victim, feeling sorry for themselves, or get caught up in focusing on things beyond their control. Often when I can’t get through to someone who is stuck in their own way, this book can!
Highly recommend. :)
