Did Social Media Finally Break You?
Read this if social media has stopped working for you. There's a simpler way to get new nutrition clients to sign-up and work with you. Instead of a sales funnel, switch to a trust funnel.
Happy 2-Tips Tuesday!
Here are two ideas to consider this week.

1. Did Social Media Finally Break You?
If you’ve been feeling frustrated with the ineffectiveness of paid ads and social media posting this past year, you’re not alone.
I’ve mentored countless nutrition and fitness coaches who feel exactly the same way. They’re ready to throw in the towel after how much time, money, and sanity social media has stolen from them this past year.
Maybe you’re facing this too?
❌ Posts that get zero interaction.
❌ Thoughtfully written captions that go unread.
❌ High effort reels that flop.
❌ Reach under 2%.
❌ Pretty Canva posts that take hours to design and get crickets.
❌ Calls to action that are entirely ignored.
❌ Zero clients and leads coming in.
If you can relate, I bet it’s had a negative impact on your mental health and it doesn't feel worth it to keep trying so hard.
But what are you supposed to do if you’re a coach trying to grow your business, and still need a way for new clients to find you?
The New Way to Sell: Trust First
Here’s some good news. Things are actually simpler now.
What if I told you the secret to getting clients isn’t through complicated funnels or paid ads, but through building trust first? The most successful coaches have figured this out—they know that trust is the foundation. Once you’ve built that trust, you become the obvious choice for potential clients.
So, how do you build that trust? Here’s a breakdown of trust-building strategies, ranked from slowest to fastest.
SLOWEST
1. Ads: don’t try to sell, instead show credibility, case studies, and celebrity endorsements
2. Blogging and newsletters: post regularly on your website, email list, LinkedIn
3. Social media: post more real, off-the-cuff, unpolished content
4. Podcasts: start your own or guest speak on others' to let people connect with your voice
5. Long-form videos: YouTube—like audio but even richer, because they can fully see you
6. Live virtual presentations: webinars, live masterclasses—raw, real, unedited, allow the audience to interact with you
7. Live in-person presentations: physical stage, keynote, mastermind groups, in-person conferences (the conversations in the hallway are where the real magic happens!)
8. Google reviews: ask current clients to leave ratings—they provide social proof and public credibility
9. Word-of-mouth referrals: have clients and trusted experts recommend you
10. Previous clients: reach out to reconnect and offer your services again—they already trust you
FASTEST
The bottom line?
When you focus on building trust in a meaningful, authentic way, you won’t have to rely on social media, complicated funnels, or ads as much. Less desperate chasing, more natural attracting.
Clients will choose you because they see your value and trust you to help them.
And isn't that so much better than sending another soul-sucking, cringy DM or spending hours on ChatGPT, trying to craft the perfect hook and video title—when you’d rather be with your family and friends, doing what you actually love?
2. If You’re Tried, Burnt Out, and Overwhelmed…
DO LESS. BUT BETTER.
The kindest gift to yourself is to accept that you can’t do it all.
Instead of trying to be everywhere at once (especially if this past year was tough for getting clients), focus on 1-2 strategies from the trust ladder that you genuinely enjoy and can stick with.
Your future self will thank present-day you for taking some pressure off your plate.
